Founded as a Sugar Plantation in the early to mid 1800's, and incorporated in 1959, Sugar Land is the largest city and the economic center of Fort Bend County. Sugar Land has made homes to some of the largest corporations in the world including the headquarters of Imperial Sugar and the company's main refinery and distribution center, which was once located in the heart of this wonderful city. The city also holds headquarters for Western Airways, Nalco Chemical Company, Schlumberger North America, as well as Coca-Cola which recently moved their offices into Sugar Land Town Center. Sugar Land Town Square Sugar Land Town Square

Sugar Land Town Square has proven a hit with the members of our community. A main-street city center and a central business district that is within walking distance of stores, services, mid-rise office buildings, mostly chain restaurants, sidewalk cafes, entertainment and hotels including the Marriott Hotel and Conference Center.

An abundance of commercial growth, with numerous low-rise office buildings, banks and high-class restaurants popping up, at the intersection of the Southwest Freeway (U.S. Hwy 59), and Highway 6, two of the six main traffic arterials within the city. In an attempt to manage future growth, the city has already placed restrictions on how many levels a building can have. The district has also opened low-rise condos which offer wonderful living quarters for those who work and play in the area!
